   Welcome! My name is Mrs. Carol Lynn Moy, and I am so excited to be a Literacy/Social Studies teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. I am beginning my 27th year of teaching (25th year in 5th grade). I hold a Bachelor of Science degree from Trenton State College and a Master's of Education from William Paterson University. My teaching experiences have also included 5th grade (Math & Science) and 6th/7th grade (Math, Social Studies & Science). These different learning environments have helped to shape me as a teacher.

   There are many things that I enjoy outside the classroom. I spend as much time as I can at the beach with my family (especially with my puppy, Gracie). My son and daughter love the ocean. Another thing that I really enjoy is reading. I read for entertainment, but also to learn about the world around me. I am intrigued by other cultures and their traditions. 

   Fifth grade is an exciting year of growth and learning for children. I will strive to provide your student with a solid academic foundation as they begin their middle school years. My expectations are high, and I will challenge your student to exceed standards. However, my approach will be a differentiated one that meets the needs of the individual child in a positive, caring learning environment. I am looking forward to guiding students on this important journey as they begin middle school and beyond.

If you have an emergency or change in your child's dismissal on a given day, please call the school office directly (973-571-6751), as I am not permitted to check email during instructional time.

   I am very excited about working with you and your child, and am confident that we will have a wonderful 2025-2026 school year!!!!!
