Welcome to Fifth Grade Literacy!

Dear Students,

We are looking forward to an awesome school year! This summer, we ask that you select one fiction novel to read independently! You can choose any genre, including a graphic novel! (Did you know that graphic novels are meant to be read twice?) 

We will be working on a summer reading project when we come back to school! Be sure to have a copy of your novel, so you can refer back to it for important events and evidence from the story! 

You may stop and jot down your thinking as you read. Feel free to use sticky notes and place them in important parts of the book! We can’t wait to see your book choices and to meet you!
