Ms. Michelle Mustardo

My name is Ms. Mustardo and I am the art teacher at H.B. Whitehorne. Words cannot express how honored I am to hold this position.  I grew up right around the corner from Verona in Fairfield. I have two children of my own, my daughter Jordan (12) and my son Marky (11). They are the light of my life and we spend a lot of time having fun and being creative.

 

Being an educator has inspired me to be a better mother, and being a mother has prepared me to be a better educator. I began my journey in the field of education in 2013 as a classroom aide. I fell in love with the profession, and in my heart I knew teaching was what I was meant to do. Having a Bachelors of Fine Arts from Hofstra University, I was able to enroll at Caldwell University to acquire my teaching certificate. While at CU, one of our principals, Dr. Lanzo, was a professor of mine. In class he taught us a lot and spoke of this district often. We used Verona Public Schools as a model in our lessons. Each time I was introduced to Verona as a school system, the feeling that I belonged here grew stronger and here I am! It is so exciting to be a part of this community and I look forward for all there is to come!
