Ms. Samantha Melillo

Welcome! I am so excited about starting my fifth year teaching at HBW as a Literacy teacher!  I am a graduate of The College of New Jersey (TCNJ). I acquired my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Women’s and Gender Studies. I also earned my Masters of Art in Teaching for Special Education. I recently earned my Orton Gillingham Certification from Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU).  During my time in college, I was given the opportunity to teach in very diverse learning environments in urban and suburban settings, at the elementary and high school levels. My summers have been spent as a camp counselor working with children from kindergarten to 7th grade. I have also been a volunteer softball and volleyball coach for 10 years. In my free time I love to read, spend time with friends and family, and go to the beach. I greatly enjoy watching movies and sports, specifically the New York Yankees and the New York Giants. I am looking forward to another great school year and continuing my career here in the Verona School District.
