    Graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Early Childhood Education and a minor in Counseling.  Received a Master of Arts degree in Teaching and later a certification as a Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant from Montclair State University.  Other certifications include Elementary Education and Teacher of the Handicapped.  Ms. Burns was an adjunct professor at Montclair State University for 5 years teaching graduate courses in Special Education. 
     
    As a member of the Child Study Team, Ms. Burns's duties include evaluating students, case management, and assisting teachers with strategies for teaching students with learning differences.
