                                                 Mandarin Club Statement

The Mandarin Club was formed in the year 2006 in order to provide a fun extracurricular activity for students interested in Chinese culture. Anyone who is a student at Verona High School can join. Meeting dates are determined by the members and Mrs. Hou and held at least twice a month. Announcements are made via google classroom/school speaker and written on the board in the Mandarin classroom (Rm. 43) to keep its members informed.

Our goal is to provide a fun cultural learning experience so we involve our members in activities about Chinese culture. We have gone to Chinatown, the Royal Buffet, XiaoFeiYang Hot Pot, Chineses supermarkets, Lily Yip table tennis center and Forest Avenue Elementary School and Laning Ave. Elementary School to organize handon activities with the younger kids.

Club meetings consist of fun activities such as playing badminton, playing the traditional game of jianzi, yo-yo or Chinese hacky-sack, and watching Chinese movies. We hope to see you there. We will entend our activities to more different communities this year. Plese come and have fun at VHS.

Meeting dates/time: A days during lunch block.
