    Teacher of Mathematics, Computer Science
     
     
    Rich Wertz teaches mathematics and computer science at Verona High School. Before joining the VHS faculty in 2004, he was a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs, a global investment banking and securities firm. During his 15 years there, he designed and wrote quantitative modelling software for the firm's securities and derivatives trading businesses. Before joining Goldman, he worked at Andersen Consulting, now known as Accenture, a global management and technology consulting business.
      
    Mr. Wertz graduated with High Honors from Princeton University with Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science and was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa and Tau Beta Pi Honor Societies.  A native of Williamsport, Pennsylvania, he is a graduate of Montoursville Area High School.
     
    Mr. Wertz holds New Jersey teaching certificates in Mathematics and Physics and is in his 20th year at Verona High School.  He is currently teaching AP Calculus BC, AP Computer Science A, and Algebra 2 and Algebra 1. He is honored to have been a recipient of the 2016 Princeton University Distinguished Secondary Teaching Award and the inaugural Verona Foundation for Educational Excellence Inspiring Excellence Award in 2016.
