Rho Kappa National Social Studies Honor Society at Verona High School

The principal purpose of Rho Kappa is to stimulate a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of all the academic disciplines comprising the social studies curriculum. Rho Kappa symbolizes the firm belief that knowledge without service is useless. 

Candidates who are presented for induction in Rho Kappa meet the requirements for membership, including superior work in Social Studies classes and demonstrating the qualities of industry, initiative, and reliability.

The mission and the purposes of Rho Kappa shall be:

• to promote scholarship and to recognize academic excellence in social studies among high school students.
• to provide through its local chapters opportunities for exploration in the social studies in secondary school environments and the community.
• to encourage interest in, understanding of, and appreciation for the social studies
