Mrs. Nardi graduated from Wheaton College in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a minor in Early Childhood Education. She is certified to teach in Massachusetts, Connecticut and New Jersey and received her Masters degree in Early Childhood Education from William Paterson University in January 2007. Her Master's thesis focused on the effects that daily journal writing had on students' writing skills and attitudes towards writing. Mrs. Nardi taught full day kindergarten for one year at a parochial school before coming to Laning 22 years ago, where she has since taught kindergarten, first, second and third grade. She feels that exemplary teaching must actively engage children in the learning process. She believes most young children learn best by a hands-on approach that connects abstract concepts to real life and allows children the opportunity to experience the thrill of discovering, experimenting and problem-solving. Mrs. Nardi lives in Verona with her husband and son, Logan.

Welcome to Second Grade!

This is sure to be an exciting year for your child! I am very excited about the first day of school and I have a challenging year planned. Learning will take place throughout the day in so many ways!

Your guidance and support will be needed on homework throughout the year. Please check homework nightly, since immediate feedback is always more meaningful. Please provide help as needed and don't hesitate to write me a note if you see a certain skill is particularly challenging for your son or daughter.
