    Mrs. Karen Tully graduated from The University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and membership in three national honor societies. Through a comprehensive dual certification program, she became a certified teacher in both elementary and special education. After five years of successful teaching, Mrs. Tully earned her Master's Degree in Special Education and became a certified LDT-C through William Paterson University. 

    Mrs. Tully's teaching career began as a first grade teacher at a parochial school in Wayne, NJ. The following year she accepted a sabbatical leave replacement position in a K-1 multiage classroom in Westwood, NJ. Mrs. Tully then settled into second grade at Tulsa Trail School in Hopatcong, NJ. There she taught in a general education setting, as well as in a second grade inclusion classroom for five years. Prior to her arrival in Verona, Mrs. Tully spent two years in the City of Passaic as a Learning Disabilities Teacher-Consultant. There she began earning credits toward her ESL teaching certificate through New Jersey City University. 
     
    As a member of the Child Study Team, Mrs. Tully is the case manager for students with special needs who attend FN Brown and Brookdale Avenue Schools.  In addition, Mrs. Tully consults on the Intervention and Referral Services (I&RS) Committees in both schools and completes educational evaluations at FN Brown School, Brookdale Avenue School and the Verona Preschool Program.
     
    Following the NJ Anti-Bullying Legislation of 2011, Mrs. Tully also assumed the responsibilities of the Anti-Bullying Specialist at FN Brown and Brookdale Avenue Schools.  As the ABS, Mrs. Tully is actively involved on the Character Education Committee at FN Brown School and the School Safety Teams at both schools.  As a member of the Character Education Committee at FN Brown School, Mrs. Tully leads an all-school assembly during New Jersey's annual "Week of Respect", participates in the Conflict Resolution training of new teachers and paraprofessionals throughout the four elementary schools, and participates in the training of peer mediators at FN Brown School.

    In addition to her roles within the Verona Public Schools, Mrs. Tully is proudly raising her daughter, Kiley, and son, Christopher, with her husband, Kevin.
