I would like to welcome you to my home page! After 40 years at F.N. Brown School I am still just as excited to begin this new year as I was on my first day of teaching.
    We're Blooming With Character

This year I'm sure will be a very exciting and challenging year for our fourth graders. I, as a teacher, feel that mutual respect with students creates a successful learning environment. My expectations are for my students to practice this as well at all times. Developing a rapport and treating students as individuals is extremely important to me. My philosophy centers around creating a safe, productive, structured, yet comfortable and creative classroom encouraging each student to be and do their best. There is nothing more important than feeling good about oneself in order to succeed. My classroom is designed to focus on these successes in order to achieve this goal. I also encourage responsibility, organization and listening which are life skills that will be used forever. I look forward to working with your children. Communication is very important. Feel free to contact me at any time...mforce@veronaschools.org

The following is a list of student responsibilities:
    • Assignment pads should be brought home and returned on a daily basis. Students are responsible for keeping track of what homework they need to have completed.  Since we are switching for Science and Social Studies, students must keep track of what homework they received from each class. It is an important part of their daily routine. Parents should check their homework, but not do it for them.

    • Homework folders are a must. There may be worksheets to be completed. This folder can also be used for notices. Please check on a daily basis. There are many notices to keep track of.

    • Students are also required to have a safe keeping or work in progress folder for school.

    • Be aware of long term assignments/projects.
    • Students should always have an ongoing reading book in class .If there is a book  they have at home that has not been read they are welcomed to read it in class. They should be reading  at least 20-30 minutes each night.
**Having a sense of responsibility is extremely important. Let us all work together to develop this to the fullest. Owning what we learn keeps it with us forever. **
