Degrees and Certifications:

Miss Spinelli

Welcome to 7th grade English!

My name is Miss Spinelli and I am so excited to start my second year here as the Olmsted House 7th grade English teacher! Prior to coming to H.B. Whitehorne, I taught 7th grade English at Manalapan-Englishtown Middle School. I graduated from Montclair State University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in English before going on to earn my Masters of Arts in Teaching K-6 education and special education from Monmouth University in January 2020. I then received my certification in secondary English.

Here at H.B.W., I hope to instill a love of reading and writing in my students and teach them how to think critically and collaborate effectively. I am dedicated to providing my students with the support and motivation they need to not only succeed in English, but thrive!

Before pursuing education, I was a journalist for a short period of time in 2016 and reported for the Verona-Cedar Grove Times. In doing so, I was able to immerse myself in the Verona community and I realized what a special community it is. I am so excited to officially be a part of the town and education system that I have spent so much time exploring and writing about.

When I am not teaching, I love volunteering at an animal rescue and working with dogs, which I have been doing for over 7 years. I also enjoy reading books of all kinds (thrillers and historical fiction novels are my favorites!), writing, playing with my dog, and traveling the world.

I am looking forward to working with all my students and having an amazing year! If you need to contact me, I am always available via email at
