Hello Everyone! My name is Mr. Adler, and I am in my second year teaching Physical Eduction at Brookdale and Laning Avenue Elementary. I also teach Health at F.N. Brown Elementary. I received my Bachelor's in Sociology from Providence College in 2015. While at Providence College, I played on the Men's Division I soccer team and was team captain in the 2014 season where we won the programs first Big East Championship and reached the NCAA Semi-Finals. I then received my Masters of Arts in Teaching in Physical Education and Health from the Graduate School of Montclair State University in 2018. I am also the current Assistant Varsity Boys soccer coach at Verona High School and entering my third year.
The goals of PE are to encourage healthy habits and to teach students that movement is FUN! We want students to become confident and creative movers and to choose to be active for a lifetime!
Concepts that we will cover during the school year are the following: Team Sports, Team Building, Muscular Strength, Cardiovascular Endurance, Flexibility, Dance, Crossfit, and multiple other fun and exciting PE topics that will get students active and healthy.
In Physical Education, I emphasize the importance of sportmanship, safety, team work, giving your best effort, and having fun!
I am looking forward to another GREAT school year with all of you!
