Mrs. Joelle Dere

Welcome! I am the Social Worker on the Child Study Team at H.B.W. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker as well as a Certified School Social Worker with several years of experience working with special needs students and individuals suffering from a variety of behavioral health issues, including anxiety, depression, behavioral and adjustment disorders, developmental issues, post-traumatic stress disorder, low self-esteem, and family conflict. I also have experience with social skills training and providing support for caregivers and loved ones.

I am a proud graduate of Verona High School. I earned a BA in Family and Child Studies with a Child Advocacy and Policy certificate from Montclair State University. I then studied at Rutgers University, earning a Master's degree in Social Work with a certificate in Violence Against Women and Children. I also have a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Montclair State University. 

In my free time, I love spending time with my husband, family, and friends. I also love hiking, reading, walking my dog, traveling, watching movies, going to concerts, playing basketball, and attending sporting events.
