Welcome to the Home Page of Verona High School Athletics
The major objective of the athletic program is to provide wholesome opportunities for students to develop positive leadership habits and attitudes of social and group interaction.
Athletics plays an important part in the life of Verona High School. Young people learn a great deal from participation in interscholastic athletics. Lessons in sportsmanship, teamwork, competition and how to win and lose gracefully are integral parts of our athletic program. Athletic participation also plays an important part in helping students develop a healthy self-concept as well as a healthy body. Athletic competition also improves school spirit and helps students develop pride in their school.
Our philosophy extends beyond athletics to our team community service projects and assisting those less fortunate than ourselves. During the 2011-2012 Verona High School Athletic teams raised approximately $2000 for the following charities:
UNICO
Breast Cancer Research
ALS Research
St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital
Coaches vs. Cancer
Valerie Fund
Our scholar-athletes from the 2011-2012 school year will be furthering their education at the MIT, Georgia Tech and Seton Hall University.
